The best webcam for streaming is a 1080p60 USB camera with a sensor that holds up in ordinary room light. On PC and Twitch you have real choice.
On PS5 you do not. Sony’s own broadcast instructions name only the HD Camera (CFI-ZEY series) and the PlayStation Camera (CUH-ZEY series).

Frame rate matters more than the resolution number
A 1080p60 camera sends twice the frames of the 1080p30 cameras most people already own. Motion stays readable when you lean in, gesture, or react to a play.
The Elgato Facecam MK.2 records 1080p60 and adds HDR up to 1080p30. The Logitech Brio 4K covers 4K at 30 fps, 1080p at up to 60 fps, and 720p at up to 90 fps.
Chasing 4K is usually the wrong call. Your face sits in a small box on a canvas your encoder already scales down, so the extra pixels vanish while the 30 fps ceiling stays visible to everyone watching.
The PS5 will not accept a random USB webcam
Sony’s broadcast guide lists those two cameras and no third-party option. The camera connects to a USB port on the back of the console, and you pick Broadcast Options before going live to include the video.
If you already own a webcam you like, the route around this is a capture card feeding a PC. Console output and camera then meet inside OBS, where any USB camera behaves normally.
Fixed focus and autofocus solve different problems
Facecam MK.2 uses fixed focus tuned to a 30 to 120 cm range (12 to 47 in). Nothing hunts while you shift in your chair, which is the failure viewers actually notice.
Brio autofocuses instead, with 5x digital zoom and three diagonal field-of-view presets at 65, 78, and 90 degrees. That flexibility earns its keep if you show products on camera or move around the room.
Check the microphone situation too. Facecam ships without one on purpose, so budget for a separate mic rather than assuming the camera covers your audio.
Your PC pays for the camera you choose
Both cameras want a USB 3.0 or later port. An uncompressed 1080p60 feed is real work for your system while a game is already running.
