Discord on the PS5 is voice only. You can talk to Discord friends through the console, but there is no built-in way to push gameplay video into a Discord screen share. That has to travel through a PC first.
Here is the setup for both halves: voice on the console, and a working route for the picture.
Link Discord and PlayStation Network first
Open Discord on desktop, web or mobile and go to User Settings, then Connections. Press the PlayStation Network icon and a browser window opens for you to authorize the link.
Sign in with your PSN credentials. A confirmation message tells you the two accounts are joined.
One catch trips up long-time users. If you linked PSN to Discord years ago just to show game activity, unlink and relink before voice on PS5 will work. Beta participants are exempt.
Join a voice channel straight from Game Base
Press the PlayStation button to open the Control Center, open Game Base, then select the Discord tab. Pick a voice channel in any server or group message and hit Join.
That direct join only exists on the PS5. Your console becomes the mic and headset for that channel, and everyone else stays on whatever platform they were already using.

Transfer a call you are already in
On mobile, open the voice channel, swipe up for the audio controls and choose Join on PlayStation. Pick the console tied to your account, then press Transfer Voice.
On desktop or the browser client, join the channel first. In the focused voice view, press the ellipses and choose Transfer Voice to PlayStation. Right-clicking the channel name reaches the same option.
Press the PlayStation button afterwards and a voice chat card sits in the Control Center. From there you adjust your audio, see which participants have PSN accounts linked, and report anyone in the channel.
Getting gameplay video into Discord
PS Remote Play is the free route. Sony’s app runs on Windows 10 or higher and on macOS, streams the console to that machine, and you share the Remote Play window in Discord. Expect slight latency, since the picture makes an extra hop.
A capture card is the cleaner option. HDMI out of the PS5 into the card, card into the PC, then share the capture software window. You pay for hardware and get a sharper picture with less delay.

Limits to know before you commit
You cannot sit in a PlayStation Party and a Discord voice chat at once. Transferring the call to Discord drops you out of the party.
Voice transfer is a PS5 feature. A PS4 still displays your game activity on your Discord profile, but it cannot carry the call.
Keep the console on the latest system software or the transfer throws an error. Child accounts can use it, though family managers control access through the Communication and User-Generated Content parental setting.
Can you screen share your PS5 to Discord directly?
No. The console integration handles voice only. Gameplay video has to route through a PC using Remote Play or a capture card.
Why is the Discord tab missing from Game Base?
Usually an old account link or old firmware. Unlink and relink PSN inside Discord’s Connections tab, then update the console to the latest system software.
Does Discord voice chat work on a PS4?
No. Voice transfer is limited to the PS5. PS4 owners can still show their current game as Discord activity once the accounts are linked.
