How many Samsung Galaxy owners would switch to the ZenFone line now that we’ve seen the new flagship from ASUS? Let’s check out the differences between the two smartphones and reach a verdict.
Asus ZenFone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S10
Design and Display
Asus ZenFone 6: Has a flatter front, a curved back and aluminum sides, and comes with a headphone jack.
It has a high-quality LCD 6.4-inch display thanks to the flip camera. The notch-less design is thanks to the motorized camera module that flips the rear cameras to the front, which is quite nice. The screen has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.
Samsung Galaxy S10: Comes with a curved glass front, no headphone jack but does have IP68 water resistance, which the ZenFone 6 lacks.
The Super AMOLED panel is 6.1-inch and has a small hole for the selfie camera. The screen on the S10 is made up of 3040 x 1440 pixels.
Performance and OS
Asus ZenFone 6: CPU – Snapdragon 855, it has ZenUI 6 over the Android Pie OS, which is almost as clean and great as the vanilla Android.
Samsung Galaxy S10: CPU – Snapdragon 855 (for US and China versions), Exynos 9820 processor (UK, Europe, and EMEA region). The Samsung UI is far from the classic Android, but not bad at all.
Cameras
Asus ZenFone 6: the fact that the cameras from the rear can also be used as a selfie camera is what makes the Zenfone 6 so special and unique compared to other smartphones.
While for now there haven’t been many reviews on how well the Zenfone 6 can snap photos, for the price it has, it surely offers a capable camera.
Samsung Galaxy S10: although conservative, the cameras on the Galaxy S10 are quite powerful.
Battery
Asus ZenFone 6: the 5000mAh battery on the smartphone is said to last two days of non-stop use or 33.3 hours of calls.
Samsung Galaxy S10: the 3400mAh on an S10 with an Exynos CPU is disappointing, as it drains the battery quite fast. It does come with wireless charging, unlike its competitor.
The two flagships have fast charging, but the ZenFone 6 will need a little more time to charge, considering it does have a bigger battery.
Price and Availability
Asus ZenFone 6: is available for preorder and will start shipping beginning with May 25. It costs around $499 (6GB RAM and 64GB storage) and goes up to $624 (for the128 GB ROM version), and the 8 GB RAM / 256GB ROM reaching a price of $669.
Samsung Galaxy S10: is available for purchase – the price is $899.99 (for the 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage), $1149.99 (8GB RAM/512GB).
