Stop everything! The web has been on fire for a few days for an egg, which has just dethroned Kylie Jenner for the title of Instagram’s most popular post. And no, it’s nothing special.
The egg in question has an orange-brown shell dotted with small freckles. Nothing would differentiate him from one of his fellows in a dozen.
Yet, with 29 million likes, he far exceeded – by far – the record of likes on Instagram, until then held by a publication of Kylie Jenner announcing the name of his daughter. This last publication reached this summit a little less than a year ago, on February 6, 2018, a few days after the starlet revealed that she was expecting a child.
The egg has 11 million more “likes” than Kylie Jenner’s, and the gap continues to widen. By comparison, Australia has 25 million inhabitants and the city of Shanghai has 24 million.
Kylie Jenner directly targeted
The photo, published under the pseudonym “world_record_egg” (egg of the world record), is accompanied by a direct call to beat Kylie Jenner to his own game.
“Let’s set a world record together by getting Instagram’s most beloved publication. Let’s beat the current record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We are capable. ”
The whole thing is followed by three haste words: #LikeTheEgg (like the egg), #EggSoldiers (egg soldiers) and #EggGang (egg band).
Kylie Jenner reacted to the news by posting a video of her breaking an egg in the street. “Take it, little egg,” she wrote to complete her publication.
