August 9 is a big day for the tech world, as the 2019 Developer Conference will take place in Dongguan City, China. One of the major companies that will be present at the event is Huawei, who is expected to announce EMUI 10, their custom version of Android Q. Everyone is excited for the reveal, especially since the Android Q version is still in its beta stage.
Weibo, a Chinese social media giant, posted a few promotional images of the EMUI 10, suggesting that Huawei gave its custom OS a makeover, changing the GUI and adding a couple of new features.
Huawei Central says that the EMUI 10 will feature the following changes:
- New UI elements and effects;
- GUI redesign
- Enhanced video ringtones
- New themes, wallpapers and fonts customization options
- Various system animation, video playback and Games optimizations
- Expanded file management
Other possible new features have been hinted at, but they were not confirmed by Huawei, so we shouldn’t get our hopes up too high.
Huawei’s EMUI 10 is expected to make its debut along with the release of the Mate 30 series in a few months, then shortly rolling up in other models, like P30, P30 Pro and Mate 20 family. The process of updating all Huawei devices to EMUI 10 will probably take several months, as it happened with EMUI 9.1.
In addition, Huawei is expected to make some other hardware and software announcements at the annual Developers Conference in China. Besides announcing EMUI 10, the company will most likely unveil the highly-anticipated HongMeng OS.
Usually, EMUI versions are launched alongside the newest Android version. This time, however, the tradition will break, as we still don’t have any clue as to when Android Q will be officially released.
