Android 9 Pie Update Comes With LTE Issues For Sprint Network

Owners of Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Galaxy Note 8 that are locked in the Sprint network and don’t have the Pie update can meet some problems. The update was removed because it has a problem more significant than the benefits it’s offering. Many owners have reported complaints about the disappearance of LTE connectivity.

What Is Sprint Network?

Sprint Network is an American telecommunications company that offers wireless services and is also an internet service provider. The company is one of the four largest mobile network operators in the US. Sprint Network is providing wireless voice, messaging, and broadband services through Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Assurance Wireless.

What is LTE Connectivity?

Short for Long-term Evolution, is a wireless broadband communication for mobile devices and data terminals. LTE is based on GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technologies. It was created to increase the capacity and speed through a radio interface and core networks improvements. You will see the LTE network marketed as 4G LTE or Advance 4G, but it doesn’t have the criteria for a 4G wireless service.

However, Sprint had made a mistake when they offered to be the first US company that will bring Android 9.0 Pie to the 2017 Samsung high-end phones. But this decision has left the smartphones without LTE network speeds. The company acknowledged the issues and had put the update on hold for proper investigations alongside Samsung. The problem is with those users that had updated and now has the bug. The bigger problem is that they can’t remedy anything if they need an LTE connection.

Moreover, because of Android updates, you can reverse the process; you can’t go back to a previous version. The 3G and Wi-Fi are still working, and you have a way to access the update with the fixed issues.  The company is warning the users that disabling the phone bands won’t provide a fix. Also, they are offering a replacement if you bring your phone and it’s still under warranty.
